Sharing our testicular cancer stories with others is a great way to help others learn from experiences. It also is a great way to get your thoughts and feelings out, and many people find it very therapeutic. To the best of our knowledge, the stories on this site are all true. They are included here not to tell you the "right" way testicular cancer should be treated. Rather, they are here to help you get a better picture of the many possibilities that may lie ahead and how others have gotten through it.
The stories are organized into general categories to help you find what you are looking for. For example, everyone in the Seminoma section had to deal with a Seminomatous tumor, etc. If you are looking for something more specific, try using the search engine provided below. Just use the keywords you are interested in, and it will do its best to find the appropriate stories. For example, it is good if you are looking for people from a particular place like Australia or with a specific problem like brain metastases. Some keywords, like seminoma, may be used so frequently throughout the stories that they are almost useless, so choose your keywords carefully!
Please note: Try using
a single word first, then add additional terms. Be careful
not to search on really common words like testicular or cancer or you will
match every single page on the site! As always, correct spelling will greatly
improve your odds of a good search. If you still can't find what you are looking for,
send me an email
and I'll try to help.
The TCRC uses
FreeFind.com as its search engine.
FreeFind support wildcards and + and - qualifiers. Use the asterisk character
(*) to find words that match a pattern. For example, "*seminoma" will find
"seminoma" and "nonseminoma." The "+" and "-" operators can be used to specify
words that must either be included or excluded from a document. This is a very
useful technique for driving your search. The TCRC has more than 20 pages of
archived guestbooks, and while they can be interesting, they'll match almost
anything. To avoid them, just add -guestbook to your search. If you have a TC related story you'd like to share, we'd love to hear about
it for possible inclusion in this area. We promise the strictest
confidentiality, we just want to let folks know they're not alone...
