Privacy Statement for the
Testicular Cancer Resource Center
Thank you for visiting the Testicular Cancer Resource Center. We have created this
privacy statement to assure you that we have a firm commitment to privacy, and we
have no interest in taking advantage of you or your circumstances. The following
discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for this website
and the email support lists: TC-NET and TC-SUPPORTERS.
Your IP Address
No effort is made to identify individuals without their knowledge. We do, however,
collect aggregate information and site statistics for the purpose of improving the
site. We do not link any of this information to anything personally identifiable.
A user's session on the TCRC may be tracked, but the user will remain anonymous.
Domain names are used to collect broad demographic information.
Cookies
Cookies are not used by any part of the TCRC. However, it is possible
that one of the services the TCRC uses to track users may use cookies to identify
repeat users. This information is used solely for statistical purposes and is
not used to identify individuals.
Personal or Medical Information
The TCRC itself does not require any member or user information. However,
any email or correspondence sent to the TCRC may be stored. Emails sent to the TCRC
typically include some medical background and questions, and storing this information
makes it easier to correspond. In a very few cases involving some of the less
common conditions, we may contact someone months or years down to road to ask
for assistance. In some cases we receive questions that cannot be
answered without outside assistance. The TCRC tries not to disclose any personally
identifiable information about you when asking for assistance without first
asking permission. Identifiable medical or other information is never sold or
shared with anyone.
Information sent to TC-NET or TC-SUPPORTERS is public domain, archived and
is accessible to anyone subscribed. ACOR's
Privacy Policy notes
that "Our success is based on the wide availability of our electronic mailing
lists. Such availability means that we cannot guarantee who is subscribed and
what unforeseen use can be made. We are constantly monitoring the use and
possible abuse of our resources but we are aware that unknown entities could
archive the lists without our permission. The only SURE way to protect one's
privacy is to NEVER write to the lists. Each subscriber should weigh the
potential benefits/danger of her/his participation." The list of subscribers
for TC-NET and TC-SUPPORTERS are available only to the list administrators. These
lists are private and have never been and will never be sold or used by anyone
outside the TCRC.
Personal Stories sent to the TCRC for the purpose of publication are freely accessible, archived and
indexed by the normal internet search engines. As such, we cannot control who sees
this information or what unforeseen use can be made of it. Please do not submit stories that you do not consider public domain.

This site contains links to other sites. The TCRC is not responsible for the
